Katharine Park Awarded 2016 Sarton Medal

Heartfelt congratulations to Katharine Park, the Samuel Zemurray, Jr. and Doris Zemurray Stone Radcliffe Research Professor of the History of Science, for being named the 2016 recipient of the Sarton Medal for her lifetime’s achievement in the field of history of science. The prize was awarded on November 6 at this year’s History of Science Society meeting in Atlanta. Park is the seventh woman to win the Medal since its inception in 1955. The award recognizes George Sarton, the founder of the journal Isis, and one of the founders of the modern phase in the history of science.
