Research Interests: The historical elements of the environmental movement. From a research question that explores social reception to behaviors that impact the environment, my goal is to find something that would spark another environmental movement and incite change among the population to rally for action against climate change by mobilizing people of the world to fight for environmental issues

Deng-Tung Wang pursued the joint A.M.-A.B. program at Harvard. His background is in environmental sciences and engineering. Hailing from San Jose, California, he is a fan of sunny days and delicious cuisine.

Deng-Tung interested in exploring the historical elements of the environmental movement. From a research question that explores social reception to behaviors that impact the environment, his goal is to find something that would spark another environmental movement and incite change among the population to rally for action against climate change by mobilizing people of the world to fight for environmental issues. Through his activities and educational experience, Deng-Tung has developed theories to find a way to make climate change an issue that is experienced more concretely and personally. The most promising answer he has developed in the course of his research lies in the areas of public health and environmental justice. Linking detrimental environmental consequences to direct impact on human well-being creates new methods of presenting the need for policy and reform more convincingly to a larger number of people. Therefore, Deng-Tung is interested in the links between well-being and environmental action from a historical perspective to understand insights moving forward.
