With Professor Eric Gurevitch on Wednesday at 3:00-5:45 pm

This graduate seminar will provide students with the resources to tell compelling histories of sciences, technology, and medicine across the premodern globe. The course will survey the trajectory of recent historiography and read sources from a range of contexts to think about the current – and sometimes enduring – questions that animate the field. The course is designed to help graduate students develop their own research agenda in conversation with historiographic debates, write review essays, and assess the state of the discipline.
