**Hallam Stevens** is an historian of science and technology whose work examines the intersections between the life sciences and information technologies. He is the author of*Life Out of Sequence: A Data-Driven History of Bioinformatics* (2013), *Biotechnology and Society: An Introduction*(Chicago, 2016), and the co-editor of *Postgenomics: Perspectives on Life After the Genome* (Duke, 2015) and*Crafting Everyday Food: Traditional, Taste, and Technology in Modern East Asia*(Hawaii, 2025). He is currently completing a book about electronics manufacturing titled*Tropics of Silicon: Labor and the Making of Global Electronics in Southeast Asia*(under contract, Johns Hopkins).
