A panel discussion that will take Michael Gordin’s Scientific Babel as a point of departure to go into such issues as scientific translation and translingual practice, glocalizations of scientific universalism, and the prospects of decolonizing the history of science. Panelists will include Michael Gordin (Princeton University), Wen-Hua Kuo (National Yang-ming University), Ruselle Meade (Cardiff University), Durba Mitra (Harvard University), Projit Bihari Mukharji (University of Pennsylvania), Carla Nappi (University of Pittsburgh), and Ruth Rogaski (Vanderbilt University).
