#  HoS PhD Candidate Gustave Lester Awarded the 2024 Ronald Rainger Prize

Gustave is being recognized for his recent article, “[Land, Fur, and Copper: The Union of Settler Colonialism and Industrial Capitalism in the Great Lakes Region, 1815-1842](/file_url/2396).” published in *Early American Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal,* Volume 21, Number 1, Winter 2023, pp. 122-165. Dedicated to supporting emerging scholars and their work, especially in the digital sphere, this prize will be awarded annually by the [History of Science Society (HSS)](https://hssonline.org/page/rainger).
