#  Boston's "Black Women Lead Project, 2023" Honors Evelynn Hammonds

Honorary Committee members Senator Elizabeth Warren, Attorney General Andrea Campbell, State Representative Brandy Fluker-Oakley selected [Prof. Hammonds](/people/evelynn-hammonds) as "an excellent role model for our young Black girls and boys," whose legacy deserves "to be studied as part of our collective history," as "it inspires the next generation of leaders to make the world a better place." Part of the celebration of this honor will be a banner with Prof. Hammond's likeness hung from a light pole along Blue Hill Avenue in Boston.
