DESCRIPTION:<p><span><strong>Hallam Stevens</strong> is an historian of science and technology whose work examines the intersections between the life sciences and information technologies. He is the author of</span><em>Life Out of Sequence: A Data-Driven History of Bioinformatics </em><span>(2013), </span><em>Biotechnology and Society: An Introduction</em><span>(Chicago, 2016), and the co-editor of </span><em>Postgenomics: Perspectives on Life After the Genome</em><span>&nbsp;(Duke, 2015) and</span><em>Crafting Everyday Food: Traditional, Taste, and Technology in Modern East Asia</em><span>(Hawaii, 2025). He is currently completing a book about electronics manufacturing titled</span><em>Tropics of Silicon: Labor and the Making of Global Electronics in Southeast Asia</em><span>(under contract, Johns Hopkins).</span></p>
