Yu Qiao is a PhD candidate in the Department of the History of Science at Tsinghua University. His research area includes history of physics and general philosophy of sciecne. Now he is working on the historical development of the concept of entropy from Sadi Carnot and Carnot cycle (1824) to the statistical interpretation of entropy introduced by Ludwig Boltzman (1877). He is also studying the life of Chinese physicist Kang-Fuh-Hu, who studied physics at Harvard from 1909-1918 and was one of the founders of the Science Society of China in 1914.
