Research Interests: The intersections of health and development, the global and the local, in the making and mediation of people, ideas, values, practices and materials. The focus of her current project is infant mortality.

Emily Harrison is a post-doctoral fellow in the history of epidemiology, a position jointly hosted by the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard History of Science Department. Working with faculty in both departments, and with collaborators in New York and Europe, Emily will pursue several projects, including a history of epidemiology at Harvard, a history of the field of clinical epidemiology, and her own work on the history of infant mortality, global health, and social medicine.
