Three HoS Undergrads Awarded Hoopes Prizes for 2024-2025

The Hoopes prize is awarded annually to undergraduates on the basis of outstanding scholarly work or research. The prize was created via a grant from Thomas T. Hoopes, Class of 1919. This year's HoS recipients are:

Katherine Burstein for her submission entitled “The Body Restored: Constructions of the Patient in the Cult of Asclepius”—supervised and nominated by Professor Hannah Marcus and Professor Mark Schiefsky

Katerina Corr for her submission entitled “The Politics of Potential: A History of the Embryonic Stem Cell Debate in the United States Federal Government, 1997–2007”—supervised and nominated by Ms. Abigail Higgins

Io Yeh Gilman for her submission entitled “‘Sons and Daughters Will Both Do’: Intertwined Histories of Population Control and Feminism in Cold War Taiwan”—supervised and nominated by Dr. Simon Torracinta
