Everett Mendelsohn
Everett Mendelsohn received his PhD from Harvard's Department of the History of Science in 1960, and went on to become a professor shortly thereafter. He spent several decades teaching and mentoring students and other scholars in the field. Throughout his career (and afterward), Prof. Mendelsohn remained keenly involved in interpreting the ever-changing role of science in human society. His august yet amiable presence in the Department of History of Science will be sorely missed.
