Research Interests: Science and society; political judgment; dynamic models in modern and historical political sciences; genre and authority.
Alexis Turner's work explores the ways that our relationships to science inflect the political sphere. How, for instance, are art, science, and philosophy entangled with political judgment, affect, and practical action? How do we get from the theories and facts of science to decisions on what to do with them? Her current research explores public battles over LSD as a political technology in the United States in the mid-twentieth century.
