Research Interests: Science and politics; history of the social sciences; political judgment; dynamic models in political thought; the history of psychedelics.

Alexis Turner is interested in problems surrounding science as a political authority. What role does science play in public debate and political decision making, and what roles do our politics play in our scientific understanding? Alexis' current research uses public battles over LSD as a political and medical technology in the United States in the mid-twentieth century as a case study to explore these questions.
