Han Jishao

Visiting Scholar in History of Chinese Science and Culture
Han Jishao is Associate Professor of Ancient China History at Shandong University (P. R. China), Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in Needham Research Institute (UK, from Jan. to Jun., 2009). His research interests include science, technology, medicine and religions in Medieval China. His recent research focuses on Daoist medicine in Dunhuang manuscripts, and Sino-foreign cultural exchanges around alchemy. He has published three academic monographs (How Daoist Alchemy Influenced Chinese Science, Daoist Alchemy and Sino-foreign Cultural Exchanges, Huangdi jiuding shendan jingjue: Collation and Commentary to a Daoist Encyclopedia on Science and Medicine.) and more than forty articles. He is also one of the main authors of A History of Science and Technology in Taoism (three volumes).
