Jane Zhang completed AM in History of Science in May 2022. She is interested in the theory of elemental media and the logic of likeness, specifically as they apply to ancient Chinese scientific and literary thought. Jane’s research is tied to her larger commitment to “elementarity” as an anthropological disposition toward the performance of matter, both in the scientific laboratory and the art studio. As a mixed-media artist, she is currently experimenting with photography, sculpture, and performance. Outside of class, she conducts qualitative research on psilocybin with the Yale Program of Psychedelic Sciences.
