Hallam Stevens is an historian of science and technology whose work examines the intersections between the life sciences and information technologies. He is the author ofLife Out of Sequence: A Data-Driven History of Bioinformatics (2013), Biotechnology and Society: An Introduction(Chicago, 2016), and the co-editor of Postgenomics: Perspectives on Life After the Genome (Duke, 2015) andCrafting Everyday Food: Traditional, Taste, and Technology in Modern East Asia(Hawaii, 2025). He is currently completing a book about electronics manufacturing titledTropics of Silicon: Labor and the Making of Global Electronics in Southeast Asia(under contract, Johns Hopkins).
