Vaccination Controversies Then and Now: Boston in 1721 and 1901
David Jones, Ackerman Professor of the Culture of Medicine at Harvard University to discuss how Boston tackled smallpox inoculation controversies in 1721 and 1901, followed by a community conversation with Tegan Kehoe of the Museum of Medical History and Innovation that reviews how these historical narratives can provide perspective on modern vaccination controversies and suggest possible ways to navigate this ongoing debate.
