Research Interests: History of American Higher education; history of social sciences; history of human sciences.

Lucian completed his A.M. in History of Science in May of 2019. Born and raised in Cambridge MA, Lucian spent his undergrad years in Massachusetts and then got as far away as he possibly could. After teaching in Turkey, Fiji, and California, Lucian came crawling back to Cambridge for a Master’s in Higher Education from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. He spent his time at HGSE focusing on statistics, data analysis, program evaluation, and coding in Python. After graduating from HGSE, he spent three years working at the Consortium on Financing Higher Education, a think-tank based out of MIT. Now he is back at Harvard as a PhD student in Education and having completed his A.M. in History of Science. His scholarly interests include the forces and actors that shape the Social and Human Sciences. More specifically, he plans to investigate the development of these fields in American Higher Education during the second half of the twentieth century.

Lucian lives near Porter Square with his wife Laura and devious cat Finn.
